Cristian Balan is a consummate professional.
Having a love affair with hair from an early age, the inevitable move came from his native Bucharest to London, where his career saw him win award after award alongside some of the UK’s most prolific barbers and hairdressers.
Cristian’s thirst for knowledge only grew as did his yearning to work for the Sassoon organisation.
In 2017 that dream became a reality when he became employed by Sassoon as a “varderer” and underwent their rigorous training program. Whilst challenging, he found the discipline in craft and pursuit of excellence a natural fit . Qualifying to stylist level working in the Kings Road , his constant self motivation swiftly lead him back to education, this time as an instructor at the prestigious Sassoon Academy. “ you have to give it back , in order to learn more” he says.
Traveling the world, sharing techniques and ideas with the creative team at Sassoon, was still not enough for Cristian, so he decided to create his own brand called BALANCE, which comes from his name, Balan Cristian Education, having as aim to share the knowledge accumulated in his career to those who want to evolve and reach perfection.
Cristian’s passion and dedication to sharing has seen him travel internationally, including Spain, Italy, Turkiye, United Kingdom, Romania, Belgium.
And when asked if he is content now? “ You never stop learning “ is his mantra “ The strive for perfection is never ending, but I wont let that stop me “ he adds cheerfully.
